Metal Engraving Pen, USB-C Rechargeable, with Precision Tip, Electric Motor, Compact and Ergonomic, Also for Plastic | Sansoti

Put your name on your tools, without a permanent engraving machine

Tools that go missing from a construction site or shared shed rarely find their way back if they aren't marked. With this electric engraving pen with a precision tip, you can engrave a name or mark directly into metal - no sticker that peels off and no marker that rubs away. The pen is powered by an electric motor and is rechargeable via USB-C, so you can take it with you without a cord and recharge it using the same cable as your phone. It fits in your hand like a thick marker: compact and ergonomic, and it also works on wood, glass, and plastic.

Why it works on metal

• Precision tip: fine enough for letters and numbers on a narrow surface, such as the handle of a pair of pliers or the edge of a frame.
• Electric motor: the tip does the work instead of relying on pressure from your hand, so the line stays even in hard metal.
• Rechargeable via USB-C: no outlet needed where you're engraving, and you already have the cable.
• Compact and ergonomic: about the size of a thick marker, so you can hold it for a long time without cramping.
• Also works on wood, glass, and plastic: one pen for the whole tool rack, as well as plastic cases and wooden handles.
• Suitable for DIY and personalization: markings, name engravings, and decorative work with the same device.

Getting started on metal

Start on a piece of scrap or on the underside of the item to get a feel for how much pressure is needed: on metal, it's better to guide the pen steadily and build up the line in two or three passes than to try to engrave deeply in one go. Secure the workpiece or place it on a non-slip mat, as an item that shifts can cause the line to slip. Write in block letters rather than cursive; they remain legible even when the engraving is shallow. Fully charge the pen via USB-C before starting on a batch of items, so you don't have to stop halfway through.
