Sport sunglasses with UV400 and polarized lenses

UV400 and polarization are often confused, but they’re two different things. UV400 is protection: a coating that blocks all ultraviolet radiation up to 400 nanometers, protecting your eyes even when it’s cloudy. Polarization improves vision: a filter layer that blocks horizontally reflected light, greatly reducing glare from water, asphalt, and snow without compromising contrast. These sport sunglasses offer both. The frame is made of lightweight plastic with ergonomic temples, and the fit is unisex.

Specifications

• UV400 coating: Blocks UVA and UVB rays up to 400 nanometers, covering the full harmful spectrum.
• Polarized lenses: Filter up to 99 percent of reflected light from water, asphalt, and snow.
• Plastic frame: Lightweight, so you’ll barely notice the glasses even after hours of wear.
• Ergonomic temples: Stay in place while running, walking, and doing other activities.
• Unisex fit: One style that suits a range of face shapes.
• Six colors: Black-red, orange, blue, yellow, black, and green.

Where the difference is most noticeable

Polarization is most noticeable on flat, reflective surfaces: water, wet roads, and snow. On a running route alongside a pond or canal, the difference from regular sunglasses is immediately visible — the water’s surface goes from a bright reflection to something you can see through. The same applies to snow when hiking in the mountains or skiing. When driving, the glasses reduce glare from the road and oncoming cars’ windshields. Keep in mind that polarized lenses can make some LCD screens appear dark or striped, such as a sports watch or dashboard display; that’s a normal effect of polarization. Store the glasses in a case to prevent scratches to the coating.
