Wall Clock 40 x 40 cm Retro Radiating Design Handmade, Silent Battery Movement, Square, Two Styles | Sansoti

40 by 40 centimeters: the size that works on most walls

With a wall clock, size comes first and style second. A 20-centimeter clock disappears above a sideboard; a 70-centimeter one dominates the whole room. This clock measures 40 × 40 cm, putting it in the size range that stays in proportion above a sofa, sideboard, or dining table. It is a square design with a retro sunburst pattern, handcrafted, with a silent battery-powered movement. Available in two versions. Batteries are not included.

Specifications at a glance

• Dimensions: 40 × 40 cm: about a quarter of the width of a two-seater sofa, so it stays in proportion above a seating area.
• Square design with sunburst pattern: the radiating lines make the clock look slightly larger than its 40 cm overall width.
• Retro style: a design language that complements mid-century furniture but also looks at home in a modern interior.
• Handcrafted: made individually, giving the sunburst pattern character rather than a machine-made uniform look.
• Silent battery-powered movement: no ticking, so it can also be used in a room where you watch TV or read.
• Wall mounting: one mounting point, so only one hole in the wall.
• Two versions: version A or version B.

Hang it in proportion

A rule of thumb for a wall object above a piece of furniture is that it should not exceed about two-thirds to three-quarters of the furniture's width; at 40 cm, that means a sideboard or sofa at least 60 centimeters wide, which in practice is anything but a narrow cabinet. Hang the clock with its bottom edge about 20 to 30 centimeters above the furniture surface, so the whole arrangement forms one composition rather than two separate elements. Because the movement runs on batteries, you have complete freedom to choose its location: there is no need to consider a power outlet. Once it is hung, use a spirit level to straighten the clock, as a crooked position is immediately noticeable on a square design.
