Foldable Wooden Coat Rack for Narrow Hallways, 31.5 x 27 cm, Hooks Fold Flat Against the Wall, Black or White, Mounting Hardware Included | Sansoti

A coat rack that stays out of the way in a narrow hallway

In a hallway just ninety centimeters wide, a standard coat rack becomes an obstacle: your shoulder catches on the hooks every time you walk past, even when nothing is hanging on them. This wooden wall-mounted coat rack measures 31.5 × 27 cm and has hooks that fold flat against the wall when not in use. So it only takes up space when there’s a coat hanging on it. At just over thirty centimeters wide, it’s a compact panel — about the width of four light switches — not a coat rack rail running along the entire wall. Available in black or white, with mounting hardware and instructions included in the box.

Why it works in a tight hallway

• Hooks fold flat against the wall: no protruding points to squeeze past in a narrow hallway or catch your sweater on.
• Compact size of 31.5 × 27 cm: fits between a door frame and a light switch, where a standard coat rack won’t fit.
• Made of wood: solid material that can support the weight of a winter coat, unlike a plastic hook that might break.
• Wall-mounted: all the floor space stays clear, which makes a difference when vacuuming a narrow hallway.
• Black or white: two neutral colors that blend into a white or dark hallway wall.
• Mounting hardware included: screws and instructions are included, so you can hang it straight away.

Where to hang it

In a narrow hallway, the space behind the front door or beside the door frame is usually the most practical spot: you don’t walk past there, but stop to take off your coat. Hang the coat rack at about shoulder height so you can place a coat on the hook without stretching your arm, while keeping the bottom of the coat off the floor. Allow for its 31.5 cm width when marking the spot, and check which type of fixings your wall requires — plasterboard needs wall plugs, while masonry can be fitted with the supplied screws and the appropriate wall plugs. Since the panel is only 27 cm high, you can hang two one above the other for children and adults if you like.
